I was a bit worried about the weight for long approaches, but these boots feel incredibly light on the uphill while still locking in securely for the descent. The walk-mode mechanism clicks smoothly and the range of motion really saves energy on those endless switchbacks.

The range of motion on these boots is what sold me—I could stride uphill without that clunky resistance I’m used to, yet they still felt planted on the descent. They’re noticeably light on the climb, and the flex held up through a full day of mixed snow without any hotspots.

I was skeptical about a lightweight touring boot holding up on the descent, but the downhill performance surprised me—solid and responsive even on firm snow. The walk mode mechanism is smooth and clicks into place with satisfying certainty.
