These things climb like a dream on the skin track, but I was genuinely surprised how much power I could put through the Grilamid shell on the way down. For a boot this light, the downhill hold is seriously impressive.

I was skeptical that a boot this light could still charge down the fall line, but the Grilamid shell holds up way better than I expected on firm morning snow. The cuff locks in snugly without any pressure points, and after a full day of touring and skiing, my feet feel fresh.

The uphill walk-in mode clicks in so cleanly that I actually look forward to transitions now. That Grilamid shell feels noticeably lighter on my foot than my old pair, yet the boot still holds an edge on icy descents.
